This website was created
on November 3, 2004, the day after George W. Bush was re-elected,
the same day that the buzz began that Hillary R. Clinton
would be the Democratic choice in 2008. (Update: We are contemplating changing this headline as it seems now Hillary is not the #1 choice for the Democrats in 2008. We are also often asked if we work for the Obama campaign and we can assure you we do not. This organization was founded LONG before anyone even knew who Obama was.)
I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base."
--Hillary Clinton, speech at George Washington University, March 17, 2008.
"Clinton's tale of landing at Tuzla airport "under sniper fire" and then running for cover is simply not credible. Photographs and video of the arrival ceremony, combined with contemporaneous news reports, tell a very different story."
"One big fact has largely been lost in the recent coverage of the Democratic presidential race: Hillary Rodham Clinton has virtually no chance of winning."
"One of the survey’s more striking findings is the diminished standing of former President Bill Clinton, whom some have seen as campaigning too aggressively for his wife — and against Obama.
More respondents in the poll view him in a negative light (45 percent) than in a positive one (42 percent). It’s a marked change from a year ago, when Clinton’s positive rating (48 percent) was higher than his negative score (35 percent).
In particular, Clinton’s support among African Americans and Obama supporters has eroded."
"...her constant resort to schmaltzy videos and cheap entertainment riffs ("The Sopranos," "Saturday Night Live") has been depressingly unpresidential. Is this how she would govern? All that canned "softening" of Hillary's image would have been unnecessary had she had greater personal resources to begin with. Her cutesy campaign has set a bad precedent for future women candidates, who should stand on their own as proponents of public policy. "
"I can't see that Hillary would appeal to feminists because, why is she there? She is there because she is Bill's wife, and it's a bit useless to pretend, 'Oh, it's because of her wonderful job as a senator,'" she told Australia's Nine Network late Monday.
"I just don't think it's true. When she had a big job in government, she blew it," said the British-based Greer, referring to Hillary Clinton's work on health issues during her husband's administration."
“I am not running for vice president, I am running for president of the United States of America. I am running to be commander in chief,” Obama boomed to applause. “I don’t know how somebody in second place is offering vice president to the person in first place.”
"Hillary Clinton had no direct role in bringing peace to Northern Ireland and is a "wee bit silly" for exaggerating the part she played, according to Lord Trimble of Lisnagarvey, the Nobel Peace Prize winner and former First Minister of the province...
I don’t want to rain on the thing for her but being a cheerleader for something is slightly different from being a principal player."
"He continued though to say that there “seems to be a different standard in the Clinton campaign.” He cited supporter Bob Johnson, who alluded to Obama’s drug use in South Carolina; Tom Buffenbarger, president of the machinists' union, who vitriolically trashed Obama in Ohio; and Tom Vilsack, who attacked Rudy Giuliani on the number of his marriages and the relationship with his children.
“It took them days to admit they were offensive comments,” Plouffe said of Johnson’s comments. And on Vilsack’s comments on Giuliani, there was “no action there,” Plouffe said. Clinton, Plouffe points out, never apologized for Buffenbarger’s remarks -- calling Obama “Janus, the two-faced Roman god of ancient times” and attacking his supporters as “latte-drinking, Prius-driving, Birkenstock-wearing, trust fund babies” -- at an event she was at and later followed him on stage.
“Apparently there are different standards here as it relates to people outside the campaign,” he added."
"Though her campaign has tried to kick the issue down the road, Democratic voters deserve to know, right now, why it is she is hiding the information in her tax returns from last year."
"Senator Clinton has also claimed that she is too “busy” to release her tax returns. Given the fact she is able to loan her campaign $5 million, you would think the Clintons would be able to hire an accountant. The reality is that she wants to keep this information hidden from voters. The people of Wyoming, Mississippi, Pennsylvania and the rest of the country should wonder why."
"But for all the millions of votes Mrs. Clinton has now won, simple math is still her enemy. She needs to use Tuesday night to persuade superdelegates — the hundreds of party leaders who have a vote on the nomination — to stop abandoning her. Or, at least, stop long enough for Mrs. Clinton to damage him with a line of attack, goad him into a colossal gaffe (or watch him make one on his own) or rely on the media to unearth a campaign-altering scandal about him.
But it is not clear if Ohio and Texas were enough to give Mrs. Clinton — a politician who has been a known quantity for 16 years— a real chance for a fresh assessment by the many superdelegates who know her well.
“The great irony is, she is now the ‘hope’ candidate,” said Dan Gerstein, a Democratic strategist who backs Mr. Obama. “She can only hope to catch some breaks and catch Obama stumbling.”
"The Dallas Morning News gets hold of Clinton caucus "training materials," in which supporters are instructed to fight for procedural control of caucuses.
The materials say in part, "DO NOT allow the supporter of another candidate to serve in leadership roles."
It goes on to say, "If our supporters are outnumbered, ask the Temporary Chair if one of our supporters can serve as the Secretary, in the interest of fairness.
"The control of the sign-in sheets and the announcement of the delegates allotted to each candidate are the critical functions of the Chair and Secretary. This is why it is so important that Hillary supporters hold these positions."
Some of the moments on the ground in Nevada showed how crucial technical control can be, particularly when -- there, as expected in Texas -- nobody has any idea what the rules are. Really makes you love the caucus process."
Oct. 2004: "One of Clinton's laws of politics is, if one candidate is trying to scare you, and the other one is trying to make you think, if one candidate's appealing to your fears, and the other one's appealing to your hopes. You better vote for the person who wants you to think and hope."
“Absolutely,” Clinton replied. “I've urged that the process be as quick as possible. … I've urged that, and I hope it will happen.”...
“To my knowledge, we have not been contacted by Mrs. Clinton or anyone else about moving more quickly with the review and release of Clinton material, specifically, her schedules.,” Perino said."

The Clinton campaign has once again stooped to a new low by circulating an image of Obama dressed in traditional Somalian clothing in an attempt to cripple Obama's campaign. Hillary should be ashamed of herself and her staff. This truly shows what Hillary Clinton is all about and will do and say anything to win.
"Obama campaign manager David Plouffe said in a statement, release of the photo “On the very day that Senator Clinton is giving a speech about restoring respect for America in the world, her campaign has engaged in the most shameful, offensive fear-mongering we’ve seen from either party in this election. This is part of a disturbing pattern that led her county chairs to resign in Iowa, her campaign chairman to resign in New Hampshire, and it’s exactly the kind of divisive politics that turns away Americans of all parties and diminishes respect for America in the world.”
"But there is a little-known episode Clinton doesn't mention in her standard campaign speech in which those two principles collided. In 1975, a 27-year-old Hillary Rodham, acting as a court-appointed attorney, attacked the credibility of a 12-year-old girl in mounting an aggressive defense for an indigent client accused of rape in Arkansas - using her child development background to help the defendant."

"Check out the NY Times Blog article below. I work for a state student loan agency that is a guarantor, lender, and servicer of FFELP Loans as well as the state grant administrator. We are a non-profit agency that gives back to students in the form of grants, scholarships, loan forgiveness, and other outreach programs. Most states have an agency like our's. I guess Hillary would be putting me and a few thousand of my co-workers and thousands of others out of work with her Direct Lending initiatives. The Fed taking over student loans and healthcare??? Is this the answer?? The government should focus on helping colleges and the healthcare industry manage their costs to pass on the savings to consumers instead of taking over the industry. It sounds like a monopoly and communism."
"She has essentially presented herself as co-president during the Clinton years," the Illinois senator charged during a press conference after the town hall concluded. "Every good thing that happened she says she was a part of, and so the notion that you can selectively pick what you take credit for and then run away from what isn't politically convenient, that doesn't make sense."
"The problem is she ran a campaign like they were staying at the Ritz-Carlton,” Mr. Trippi said. “Everything was the best. The most expensive draping at events. The biggest charter. It was like, ‘We’re going to show you how presidential we are by making our events look presidential.’ ”
For instance, during the week before the Jan. 19 caucuses in Nevada, the Clinton campaign spent more than $25,000 for rooms at the Bellagio in Las Vegas; nearly $5,000 was spent at the Four Seasons in Las Vegas that week. Some staff members also stayed at Planet Hollywood nearby.
From the start of the campaign, some donors had concerns about the Clinton team’s ability to manage money."
"Hillary Rodham Clinton's free-spending campaign blew a whopping $95,000 at a low-end supermarket-deli chain last month in Iowa - a telling sign of why she can no longer cut the mustard financially against Barack Obama in critical states."
"A few weeks ago, 21-year-old Wisconsin superdelegate Jason Rae was taken out to breakfast by Chelsea Clinton in the runup to that state’s Democratic primary.
Two days after the vote, the college junior – who will be the youngest superdelegate at this year’s Democratic National Convention — is undecided no longer: he’s backing Barack Obama."
"“I am amused when he Clinton campaign continues to say: 'Well, it’s essentially a tie.' I mean, that’s just lunacy. We have opened up a big and meaningful pledged delegate lead. They are going to have to win landslides from here on out to erase it.”"
""He also votes, and the Angry White Man loathes Hillary Clinton. Her voice reminds him of a shovel scraping a rock. He recoils at the mere sight of her on television. Her very image disgusts him, and he cannot fathom why anyone would want her as their leader. It's not that she is a woman. It's that she is who she is. It's the liberal victim groups she panders to, the 'poor me' attitude that she represents, her inability to give a straight answer to an honest question, his tax dollars that she wants to give to people who refuse to do anything for themselves. There are many millions of Angry White Men..."
"Amazing! She has been a US Senator for how many years and she still has not "fixed" this situation. I thought she was the experienced one with 'solutions'."
"How many millions - of the $140m wasted in their campaign - did the Clintons suck out of Wall Street and hedgefunders ? Their hypocrisy is boundless."
"Is Chelsea Clinton being paid by the Clinton campaign while on her leave of absence? Hillary should remember where her daughter works; Chelsea was given the high-paying job by Clinton friends."
"Mrs. Clinton forgets that that 50K the investor claims as a capital gain has been taxed TWICE. Nice populism."
"the $50 million hedge fund guy pays a smaller percentage than the 50k guy BUT, the $50 million guy pays MILLIONS in taxes and the 50k guy pays THOUSANDS. Thank God for the 50 million guy. Without him the 50k guy would be paying A LOT MORE in taxes!"
"PLEASE!!!! This from a Lady who had some Futures Trader make $100,000 for her overnight in Cattle Futures...I bet she didn't turn the money down...What a Crock!...What a Hypocrite! She will say ANYTHING to get elected...She is a Total FRAUD...CAmn't you people see how FAKE she is?"
"Obama Campaign Manager David Plouffe argued that Clinton’s attack on the authorship of the remarks is the only way she can get around her inability to answer Obama’s oratorical skills. He added that Clinton has frequently adopted Obama’s language for her own speeches."
Hillary Uses Obama Catch-Phrase "Fired up and Ready to Go"
"I think this is an all-out effort to stop a campaign that is about to make history and render America's first black president," he said. "We need some kind of independent or federal agency to investigate this."icate that she may not even come out the winner - Obama currently has 116 votes to her 118."
02/17/2008 WAKE UP DEMOCRATS! Read the quote below. Here is the translation for you: You are too stupid to decide who should be your nominee for president... only the high power Democrats should be able to make that decision.
"Harold Ickes, a 40-year party operative charged with winning over superdelegates for the Clinton campaign, made no apologies on Saturday for the campaign’s convention strategy...
In essence, he argued the party’s 795 superdelegates (Connecticut Independent-Democrat Sen. Joe Lieberman recently was stripped of his superdelegate status) were in a better position to assess electability and suitability for the presidency than party regulars who will attend the national convention in late August as pledged delegates."
"The dread Republicans she is used to hating, whom she seems to pay no psychic price for hating, and who hate her right back, are not doing this to her. Her party is doing this."
"The former KGB lieutenant colonel appeared to lash out at U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton — a leading Democratic candidate for president — when one reporter quoted her as saying that former KGB officers have no soul:
"At a minimum, a head of state should have a head," Putin said."
"The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows Barack Obama with an eight-point lead over Hillary Clinton in the race for the Democratic Presidential Nomination. Today’s results show Obama earning support from 48% of Likely Democratic Primary Voters while Clinton attracts 40%..."
"Some Obama supporters have voiced concern that the super delegates -- party officials and lawmakers who can vote however they want for the nominee -- may tilt the election in favor of Hillary Clinton if neither candidate wins the 2,025 delegates needed for the nomination. Conversations with party officials and an informal survey of the delegates show it's more likely they'll get behind the candidate who wins the most votes."

From Drudgereport.com: NYT THURSDAY: Clinton's advisers acknowledged it would be difficult to catch up in race for pledged delegates even if she succeeded in winning 3 states on which she is most pinning her hopes: Ohio and Texas in March and Pennsylvania in April. Dem party's rules would be decided obstacle in efforts to catch up to Obama before voting phase of nominating process ends later in spring... Developing...
In the Chesapeake Rout, according to exit polls in Maryland, Obama won:
Latino Voters By Six Points: 53-47
All Religions (Including Catholics)
All Age Groups (Including Seniors)
All Regions
All Education Levels
And Women by TWENTY ONE POINTS...
"Democratic insiders agree that Al Gore is the ultimate prize among uncommitted superdelegates, and Clintonistas well understand a Barack Obama endorsement by Bill Clinton's veep would be a huge blow to Hillary.
They're hoping Gore will stay on the sidelines, but shudder over reports Obama has been courting Prince Albert for months.
They also believe that Gore must be sorely tempted to stick it to the Clintons, whom he blames in large part for his defeat in 2000.
"The level of animus between them is unbelievable," a well-placed Hillary partisan confided.
A prominent Democratic strategist with close ties to both camps echoes: "The Clintons and the Gores can't stand each other." "
"...Conservatives may find John McCain uninspiring, but they have nothing but cold, hard zeal for the woman he could face in the presidential election next November..."

Weekend Primary Update:
From Foxnews.com:
"Several sources told me the ballot boxes spent the night at the home of Rio Arriba County Democratic Party Chair Theresa Martinez, whose state-lawmaker husband, Sen. Richard Martinez, endorsed Hillary Clinton."
"Nearly one in five "HillRaisers," the elite big-money fundraisers for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential campaign, have ties to the 1990s fundraising scandal that tarnished her husband's presidency by offering Democratic donors sleepovers in the Lincoln Bedroom and other perks inside the White House."
"Whitney said he has been trying to collect rent for four weeks.
"I sent about 20 e-mails," said Whitney. "I hear the Clinton campaign is out of money. Maybe the woman got laid off. I called, but they will not return any of my calls."
"I ruminate in this way because something is happening. Mrs. Clinton is losing this thing. It's not one big primary, it's a rolling loss, a daily one, an inch-by-inch deflation. The trends and indices are not in her favor. She is having trouble raising big money, she's funding her campaign with her own wealth, her moral standing within her own party and among her own followers has been dragged down, and the legacy of Clintonism tarnished by what Bill Clinton did in South Carolina."

From YouTube/CNN:
Michael Moore: Morality Prohibits Vote for Sen. Clinton
"Michael Moore on Larry King the day after Super Tuesday 2000: "I am morally prohibited from voting for Hillary in the primaries because of her war votes, I mean that not as a personal attack against her, but I simply can't side with somebody who participated, whether willingly or unknowingly, as she claims, in something that has been so evil."
"It took until a day after Super Tuesday, as it happened, for the tsunami to strike: Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton is now the underdog in the Democratic presidential fight -- and that is very much not by design (Mark Penn's spin notwithstanding). "
"At a stop in Iowa in December, Bill Clinton raised the issue of funding his wife's campaign. He told a crowd, "They say you couldn't stop me from spending all the money I've saved over the last five years if I wanted to, even though it would clearly violate the spirit of campaign-finance reform."
But yesterday Hillary Clinton made clear what the source of the $5 million was.
"From my money - that's where I got the money," she quipped."

A reader wrote in and said the following:
Why isn't anyone talking about...
Her plans to garnish wages to pay for her socialized medicine.
We will become the unitied states of socialism if she is elected.
Did you know that she also wants to limit executive compensation & pay
(which is fine for her & bill now that they;ve made tens of millions selling
their books)"
And we agree 100% - Tell your friends and family to go here:
"Clinton was portrayed in many news accounts as the night’s big winner, but Obama’s campaign says he wound up with a higher total where it really counts — the delegates who will choose the party’s nominee at this summer’s Democratic convention."
"It was the first time the group’s members ever voted to endorse a presidential candidate in a primary. MoveOn.org Political Action members hosted an Internet poll after John Edwards left the Democratic race Wednesday, and the majority of its surveyed members thought it was time to give an endorsement. The final vote favored Obama over Hillary Clinton by 70 to 30 percent."
"The donations could prove to be a political embarrassment for Clinton, who accused Obama in a South Carolina debate of representing Rezko “in his slum landlord business” when Obama was a young Chicago lawyer."
"His opponent, and her husband, stand for déjà vu all over again - a return to the opportunistic, scandal-scarred, morally muddled years of the almost infinitely self-indulgent Clinton co-presidency.
Does America really want to go through all that once again?
It will - if Sen. Clinton becomes president.
That much has become painfully apparent.
Bill Clinton's thuggishly self-centered campaign antics conjure so many bad, sad memories that it's hard to know where to begin.
Suffice it to say that his Peck's-Bad-Boy smirk - the Clinton trademark - wore thin a very long time ago.
Far more to the point, Sen. Clinton could have reined him in at any time. But she chose not to - which tells the nation all it needs to know about what a Clinton II presidency would be like."
Reader comment:
"Yes, of course she can control her husband. Remember, she said she knew how much the Slickster loved her after the Lewinsky affair, and always loved her. So I guess she was actually controlling him when he had the affairs with Monica, Gennifer Flowers, Sally Perdue, Elizabeth Ward Gracen, etc., etc., and when he was assaulting Juanita Broderick, Paula Jones and Kathleen Willey."
"How would you feel if a woman became President?
—Melvin Haas, Walla Walla, Wash.
There's absolutely no reason why a woman shouldn't be in that office, but I am not sure about this woman. It's insulting to assume that because you're a woman or a person of color, you would automatically back any woman or person of color. It's a little more complicated."
"The ferocity of anti-Clinton sentiments heard around Washington in recent days — as even some former Clinton White House aides say they are enjoying the Kennedy endorsement and the implicit rebuke of the Clintons — has reached levels that haven’t been seen for seven years. Clinton’s pardons in the closing hours of his presidency prompted a similar backlash."
"Insensitivity was reflected in a recent issue of the New Yorker, when Clinton's veteran Latino political operative Sergio Bendixen was quoted as saying, "The Hispanic voter -- and I want to say this very carefully -- has not shown a lot of willingness or affinity to support black candidates."
That brief quote from an obscure politician has generated shock and awe in Democratic circles. It comes close to validating the concern that the Clinton campaign is not only relying on a brown firewall built on an anti-black base but is reinforcing it."
"During his two terms in the White House, President Clinton made repeated overtures to the Kennedy family. So the senator’s rejection of his wife is at least as embarrassing as her 28-point loss in the South Carolina primary on Saturday."
"Photo surfaces of smiling Clintons with Tony Rezko.
Clinton injected the indicted developer's name this week in debate with Obama: 'I was fighting against those ideas when you were practicing law and representing your contributor, Rezko, in his slum landlord business in inner city Chicago.'"

From You Tube:
Ed Schultz: Bill Clinton is Lying
“The restoration of the Clintons to the White House would trigger a new wave of all-out political warfare,” The State’s editorial said. “Sen. Obama’s campaign is an argument for a more unifying style of leadership.”
"Obama's campaign said it was unbecoming for a former commander-in-chief to be engaging in harsh attacks against a fellow Democrat and some party figures have advised Bill Clinton to tone down his words or risk tarnishing his presidential legacy.
"I think it's not presidential, it's not in keeping with the image of a former president, and I'm frankly surprised that he is taking this approach," said former Senate Democratic leader Tom Daschle, who has endorsed Obama."
"In a recent interview with The New York Times, Clyburn said he was disappointed with comments from Hillary Clinton that some took to suggest President Lyndon Johnson had more to do with passing the Civil Rights Act than Martin Luther King Jr.
"We have to be very, very careful about how we speak about that era in American politics," the South Carolina congressman said at the time. "It is one thing to run a campaign and be respectful of everyone's motives and actions, and it is something else to denigrate those. That bothered me a great deal."
"Clinton claimed the Nevada vote as a victory. "This is one step on a long journey," Clinton told cheering supporters in Las Vegas. She captured the popular vote, but Obama edged her out for national convention delegates at stake, taking 13 to her 12."
"Mr. Clinton’s temper has been an issue for him as long as he has been in public life. But it has played an unusual role during the current campaign, his face turning red in public nearly every week, often making headlines as he defends his wife and injects himself, whether or not intentionally, into her race in sometimes distracting ways.
Some Clinton advisers say the campaign is trying to rein him in somewhat, so that his outbursts become less of a factor to reporters, but his flashes of anger only seem to be growing..."
"Folks, they don't tell you what they mean!" he said. Obama chuckled at his own joke before riffing on another Clinton answer in the debate, when she said that she is happy that the bankruptcy bill she voted for in 2001 never became law.
"She says, 'I voted for it but I was glad to see that it didn't pass.' What does that mean?" he asked, again drawing laughter from the crowd and himself. "No seriously, what does that mean? If you didn't want to see it passed, then you can vote against it! People don't say what they mean."
"What transpired on Sunday night, however, created the impression that Hillary Clinton’s campaign, which has been accused of belonging to a establishment network and resisting grassroots political change, was something less than accessible. Chelsea’s mum appearance sponsored by the sorority system, a naturally exclusive institution that accepts and rejects candidates based on notoriously subjective qualifications, only perpetuates the major criticisms of the Clinton campaign."
"Sen. Barack Obama has opened up a 13 percentage point lead over Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton in the battle for votes in Tuesday's New Hampshire primary, according to a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll conducted in the state from Friday through this afternoon."
"Frankly, I don't even really understand what she was saying. What I was getting was how angry she is. Not about an issue, so much, as about the fact that Obama is beating her."
"Two months ago, Rolling Stone magazine asked me to do a cover story where I would ask the hard questions that no one was asking in one-on-one interviews with Senators Clinton, Obama and Edwards. "The Top Democrats Face Off with Michael Moore." The deal was that all three candidates had to agree to let me interview them or there was no story. Obama and Edwards agreed. Mrs. Clinton said no, and the cover story was thus killed.
Why would the love of my life, Hillary Clinton, not sit down to talk with me? What was she afraid of?"
